Help! I've been trying to figure out how to make this zipped portfolio and I'm having a real hard time with two things.

#1 zipper placement

Is there an quick/easy way to mount the zip on such a construction?

#2 Stitching

When I'm stitching along the zip, the bottom stitch doesn't seem to be falling aligned with the top stitch. Its like it won't grab the lining and fall next to it...I'm losing my mind and crying a lot!!!

Any help would be so appreciated.

Don't cry! You'll get it.

1: There is a way but its a little difficult to explain without images. I have a tutorials that I'll put online in the next couple of months showing exactly how to that that.

2: I'm not sure i understand what you mean about the bottom stitch doesn't seem to grab the lining. Can you explain more or post a pic?

Thank you for the response Peter! I have to make them for an order for Dec. 1st, that's why I'm crying! Any tip at all? Before the tutorial comes?!

2-I will post a picture first thing tomorrow, hopefully it will make more sense. It might be because 1) the exterior leather and the leather lining might be too thick, combined it's about 3.2mm thick or 2) because of my first problem with zipper placement which leads to my exterior and my lining not being properly aligned...
