Hi Peter,Just a really quick one. I’ve made a very thin scratch on some veg tan leather and am in desperate need of a fix. I really don’t want to have to start over! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
take a scrap piece of the leather and use some acetone on a q-tip to see if you can "create" a liquid paint from the surface of the scrap. Then use that as your touch up color.
It looks like its dk down or black color over lighter leather...is that correct? you could try and find the matching color and very carefully touch up the color inside the scratch line.
Nah, I made a pig’s eat of it. Luckily it was all sample pieces. I just couldn’t get it right
did it work?
Luckily I did! I just thought I might be doing something wrong! Man, this is hard!
It can. That’s why you Need to test everything on scraps first!!
Sorry, just a quick one on this, but will the acetone not damage the finish of the leather?
Genius! I’ll give it a whirl. Thanks so much for your help.

I did try matching the colour with a healing compound, but it just doesn’t set as nicely as I’d like. Sounds like I might have to start over. fml
