Hi all, I’m relatively new here. Fully enjoying the video tutorials and having a blast learning the basics! I wanted to ask what was the most ideal reinforcement for belts (which brands). i will be using a mixture of calfskin, croco and alligator (starting with a reversible design using the lovely skins from Tannerie Carriat. This is a scaleable project and one which will be sold under my brand.

So I’ve recently got some samples through from Freudenberg. Including the Vildona. One of the samples is for the backside material for exotic leather. Is this to be used on exotics and then still reinforced with Vildona? Or is it one or the other?
Amazing! Looking forward to finding out more.
great. Freudenberg is a great company and the Vildona is like a miracle material
Hi Peter, thanks for getting back to me. I’ll do some digging on the bonded leather. I did get in touch with Freudenberg over the weekend so I’m sure they’ll get back to me with some tips and tricks.
I use a few different reinforcements for belts and straps depending on the situation. The first is a good strong bonded leather which can be purchased in different thicknesses. next is Vildona which is a very thin almost paper-like fiber material that gives a bit of stiffness and stops all stretch and is ultra thin. and lastly sometimes I use a thin cotton tape or webbing.
